This is a very easy step in the game. All you have to do is find an online service that provides birth certificates for use abroad. My state of birth directed me to the website www.vitalcheck.com, which will send an official copy with an apostille to an international address (for about $80). Just go to the website, fill out all the information and provide a credit card. No fuss, no muss. The birth certificate will be mailed by courier and arrive within two weeks after making the request.
When the envelope arrives in the mail, do a little shimmy, give someone nearby a high five and add it to your growing pile of documents. You might need to get an official translation done of the document, but that’s a whole ‘nother badge.
